Anthony Mackie has appeared in 8 Mile, Captain America: The Winter Soilder, She Hate Me, and The Hurt Locker. Now the Juilliard School graduate will star as Olympic champion Jesse Owens. Production is set to start in October and is expected to be released in 2016. In 2016 it will be the anniversary of Owens winning a record breaking four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Summer Games. The track and filed star’s win in 1936 is historical because it defeated German leader Adolf Hitler’s goal of using the Olympic Games to prove the Aryan race’s superiority. Jesse Owens won the gold in the 100 meters, 200 meters, long jump, and 4 x 100 meter relay.


Of course Empire is the hottest thing on Wednesday nights! The Original Soundtrack from Season 1 if Empire has become the first TV soundtrack to debut in the top spot since Glee in 2010. The soundtrack sold 130,000 units in its opening week and beat out Madonna’s Rebel Heart LP.


Kendrick Lamar is on fire! His sophomore album set the record for most album streams in 24 hours. To Pimp A Butterfly was streamed 9.6 million times on Spotify which beat out Drake’s project last month. Kendrick now holds the new global record for the most streams in a single day worldwide by a new release.

The saga continues! After being in the hospital for over two weeks with little brain activity, the Houston and Brown family have reportedly decided to take Bobbi Kristina off of life support tomorrow on February 11th. The grandmother Cissy Houston is said to want it to happen tomorrow because it is the anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death. Sources close to the family allegedly say letting go of Bobbi on Feb. 11th will “keep the mother and daughter together for eternity.” Authorities are still investigating to see if there was any foul play.
