Lil Wayne is on the cover of Nylon Magazine and spoke about his dedication to music. The rapper says in the magazine that he feels that he is one of the only artists left who is about the music. When asked about stepping up to the plate as an artist Wayne’s said “I was always ready for the call. That’s the best way to explain it. Wayne’s always ready. When it’s my turn, I make way more than the most of it. If you’re ready when they call you, and you make the most of your time, then they’ll never stop calling you.” When asked about his approach to song writing he said he’s just a regular street guy that’s smarter than the rest. He pretty much raps whatever comes up in his head and he rhymes with the next word how he’s feeling. Weezy also spoke about needing weed to be creative and it helps with inspiration. Wayne says when he first started rapping you only did it to be the best and not to have a hot song or popularity on social media. You have to be unforgettable and the only artists Wayne can think of like that are Beyonce and Kanye West.
