Verse Simmonds: The Pen Master
Verse Simmonds is the genius behind smash songs like Chris Brown & Aaliyah’s “Dont Think They Know”, Chris Brown & Nicki Minaj’s “Love More”, Justin Bieber & Chance The Rapper’s “Confident” along with “Boo Thang” with Kelly Rowland. These are not the only songs he’s written! Do your homework on that!
His latest work was Circa 96′: Prelude To 1996. Bringing back that feel good music! He is a talented writer that was born in Puerto Rico and Raised in the Virgin Islands. Verse Simmonds proves the power of the pen! Although he writes and produces for other artists his passion is to perform his own original music himself.
I had the chance to meet him and ask him a few questions but the best part was sharing Nerds candy with him. We both like the strawberry side! He was very humble but his tattoos reveal how creative he is. You respect the song, I respect the writer! Respect!

College Kids: Rutgers University offers Beyonce Class
Rutgers University is now offering a course called “Politicizing Beyonce.” If you are not familiar with the University go do your homework!  A doctoral student named Kevin Allerd is focusing on figuring out Beyonce’s lyrics and music videos with readings from black feminists. This is not the first time Rutgers has offered classes on entertainers. Jay-z and Bruce Springsteen are the other theological studies.
