A police officer shot a teen who opened fire in St. Louis Wednesday. St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said that the officer shot his weapon 17 times after “at least three” shots were fired at him. Right now it is not clear how many times the 18 year old suspect was hit. The officer that shot the 18 year old was off duty and a six year veteran of the St. Louis Police Department. The officer was not shot or hurt and an investigation will decide if the officer was justified with his behavior. Ferguson is about 16 miles from where this incident happened.

Teams that are responsible for burying bodies of deceased Ebola patients in Africa are on strike. Sources say teams in two districts of Sierra Leone have gone on strike because they have not been paid their weekly risk allowance. The specialized teams are required to handle corpses due to the virus still being active in victims after they have died. The teams are said to not have been paid their weekly salary of $100 in two weeks. Health worker Tamba Nyandemoh says they bury 17-35 bodies a day. Last week there were 121 recorded deaths and new infections in a single day.

Robina-thicke-Paula

Paula Patton has decided to end her marriage with Robin Thicke. Paula has filed for divorce and cited irreconcilable differences for the reason. She would like joint legal and physical custody for their 4 year old together. The two separated earlier this year in February. Robin wanted to make things work but Paula just seems to not be having it. The couple were high-school sweethearts. Aw well!

Forbes and it’s annual ranking has unveiled the top sports brands. For the third year straight Nike sits at the top and is worth about $19 billion. That $19 billion is a $2 billion dollar increase from 2013, and $2.5 billion more than ESPN. The question is who is responsible for keeping Nike on it’s throne? That answer is LeBron James. Sources say for the first time since 2007 someone other than Tiger Woods is at the top , and LeBron’s brand is worth about $37 million and brought in $53 million OFF the court last year alone from endorsements with McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Upper Deck, and Nike. The LeBron 12 was supposed to be released in October but due to cosmetic issues the shoe will be released sooner than later.

Twitter is now suing the Department of Justice and FBI for the right to release information on the government’s surveillance of it’s users. The goal for the lawsuit is to achieve more flexibility regarding what the company can say about the government requesting personal information of Twitter users. Twitter Inc. claims their First Amendment rights are violated by being prohibited to share the number of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court orders the receive to give out personal information for national security reasons. Back in April Twitter sent their Transparency Report to the FBI but the Department of Justice rejected the report because disclosing information on national security letters is prohibited by federal law.

A woman out of Georgia has been accused of filing a fake Georgia state tax return. Brigitte Jackson filed a return claiming she was owed over $94 million dollars. LOL! She never got her check and contacted the state revenue about the delay. After some calls were made agents cut her a check and told her to go to a bank inside of a supermarket to cash it. The entire tax sting was caught on tape. Jackson’s cousin Darrius White also allegedly reported $99 million in income and has been charged. Did they really think they would get away with this???
