Bobby Shmurda has expressed interest in leaving the deal he has with EPIC records! For the past few months Shmurda has been locked up and EPIC records has not exactly come running to his side the way people assumed they would. EPIC Records continues to generate revenue from Bobby’s hit single “Hot Nigga” but have not given any support in paying his $2 Million bail. As a result of that Bobby wants to leave the label. Bobby’s lawyer Matthew Middleton commented on the disloyalty from the label.
“These companies for years have capitalized and made millions and millions of dollars from kids in the inner city portraying their plight to the rest of the world. To take advantage of that and exploit it from a business standpoint and then turn your back is disingenuous, to say the least,” he explained, suggesting that EPIC had “made their money back at least two or three times over”.
Shmurda and his alleged accomplices in the GS9 crew are looking at 101 combined counts.
Giuliana Rancic from E! News and Fashion Police decided to comment on Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman’s red carpet look which was a Vivienne Westwood gown and faux dreadlocks. Rancic said “I feel that she smells like patchouli oil…or weed.” There were laughs after the comment. Zendaya slammed the comments and took to social media to respond.
“There is already harsh criticism of African-American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair.” She then explained, “My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough. To me locks are a symbol of strength and beauty, almost like a lion’s mane.”
Rancic then responded to the backlash on twitter.
Dear @Zendaya, I’m sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!”
