A woman named Elysse Mata who was 19 weeks pregnant was told by a doctor that she was carrying conjoined twins. Elysse gave birth 12 weeks later to Knatalye Hope and Adeline Faith Mata, twin girls joined at the chest and abdomen. Just last week the 10 month old girls went under 26 hours of surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. The team had been preparing for the surgery for months. The condition of the girls now is described as “stable as can be.”
